Soba Noodles

Ingredients

  • 3 bunches Soba Noodles
  • 4 tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 3 tbsp Seasame Oil
  • 2 tbsp Granualted Sugar
  • 2 stalks Green Onion
  • 1 tbsp Seasame Seeds

Method

  • Bring a large pot of water to a boil.
  • Add the soba noodles and cook according to the package instructions (usually about 5-7 minutes) until al dente.
  • Drain the noodles and rinse them thoroughly under cold water to stop the cooking process and remove excess starch. Set aside.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, sesame oil, and sugar until the sugar is fully dissolved.
  • In a large mixing bowl, toss the cooled soba noodles with the sauce until evenly coated.
  • Add the minced green onions and gently mix to combine.
  • Garnish with additional green onions or sesame seeds if desired.

Tips:

  • Feel free to add other toppings such as shredded nori (seaweed), toasted sesame seeds, or a sprinkle of chili flakes for some heat.
  • Rinsing the noodles thoroughly under cold water is crucial to achieving the perfect texture. It stops the cooking process and prevents them from becoming mushy.
  • Add some grilled tofu, poached chicken, or a soft-boiled egg to make it a more substantial meal.
